My mother had a salon, Salon Style, in Pretoria during my childhood years. Friday afternoons I earned pocket money , taking out rollers and perm curlers, sweeping the floor and repacking work trolleys. It was a place of great love, sharing and caring and a little gossip.I was flooded with memories when I came across this salon in Port Elizabeth. The polished floor, the decals and lace on the windows, the dryers and the ladies with purple rinse hair.
