Fine Art Photography Print - Sunset on Groenrivier ruins, Niewoudtville
Groenfontein farm and old ruins, are on the outskirts of Nieuwoudtville. Not only is this little town connected to the Trekboers who built this farm, but on this particular day the world bulb capital was displaying its annual show of spring daisies and bulbs. After a long day of visiting the area the rain came in the afternoon, so we retired to our cottage to warm up. Towards sunset the rain stopped and a gap in the clouds formed to the west. I decided to take a chance to get a last landscape for the day. It was gloomy and wet, but against the odds the sun broke through for a few seconds as we arrived. No time to set a tripod. Shot on 800 ISO handheld. A wonderful moody photograph the result.
