Panthera Leo has around only 23 000 individuals left in the world (mainly in Africa). If compared to the also endangered 415 000 elephants one realises the difficulty of survival of the species. This portrait was shot in Mala Mala game reserve in the greater Kruger Park, where they live in relative safety.
