Weighing up to 3 1/2 tons, square-lipped, 3 toed feet, thick-skinned, short-sighted, 2 solid keratin horns, almost poached to extinction. We, as South Africans, have the privilege of being able to see these beasts in their natural environment relatively easily.
This shot was taken at Motswari in the Timbavati, one of the areas where they are protected.
