A Great White Pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus) flies towards the landing strip of the pelican colony on Dassen Island, Yzerfontein.
We had been observing theses great aviators leave and approach their colony for a while and I began experimenting, panning with a slow shutter speed, tracking them as they approached. I was most pleased with the result in this instance.
Unless otherwise specified, all print sizes include the 2.5 inch white border (top and sides) and 3 inch at the bottom to allow for the artist's signature.
All photos are printed by archival standards on Matt paper with archival ink.
